Val Selvaggio

Val Selvaggio started her journey in entrepreneurship with a passion for roller-skating and a desire to fill a need in her community. With the closest skate shop hundreds of miles away, Val set out to open a brick-and-mortar store in Santa Barbara that would sell roller-skates and accessories.

Val heard about WEV through friends and worked with the organization to firm up her business plan and receive a start-up loan.

Val expressed her gratitude to individuals who support women entrepreneurs. “I remember going through the process to get approved for a loan and I knew how much help I needed. It is great that there are people out there who help others live their dreams. Helping women-owned small businesses is so important, it keeps our community going.”
