How it Started

Lisa started her business after being laid off three times in four years by nonprofits that ran out of funding. She decided to stop relying on others for her paycheck and take responsibility for her own income. It turns out the lifestyle suits her. “I love creating my own schedule. My husband has Sundays and Mondays off, so I take Sundays and Mondays off. I take midday walks into downtown Ojai to pick up my mail and run errands. I meet friends for lunch or a glass of wine at our favorite winery. I can work on the couch with my favorite British crime shows in the background and a cat on my lap. I can’t imagine ever having a regular “job” again.”

Work with WEV

Since my graduation from the SET business training course in 2004, I’ve been committed to supporting WEV however I could, usually by donating my time as a volunteer. When I learned that I could support WEV through their League of Extraordinary Women, for a reasonable monthly donation, I was inspired to contribute. Also, FOMO. All the cool girls were joining the League, and I didn’t want to be left out.” As a public speaking coach, trainer, and author of the book “Presenting for Humans: Insights for Speakers on Ditching Perfection and Creating Connection”, Lisa mentors entrepreneurs and professionals to create memorable and engaging presentations so they can grow their organizations through speaking.
