Kimberly Ramos

While on a trip, Kimberly Ramos went to get her nails done and discovered she could purchase a “nail kit” to practice and start doing nails herself. She started manicuring out of her apartment and later decided to find a salon. Ambitious Beauty Studio was born. She eventually got her license but was hungry for more. She added more and more licenses to her resume to be able to provide new services to her clients. 

Licensing was not an easy endeavor for Kimberly. The financial investment, although worth it, was a big sacrifice for her. Her mom told her about WEV, and  Kimberly enrolled in  WEV’s Emprendimiento Program. In the class, she wrote a business plan and was awarded  a grant to fund improvements for her business. She said,  “My experience with WEV was great. Just knowing  there are more people out there that just like me, have the drive and are pushing for success, and want nothing but the best for their family and their business: It’s just amazing to know  there’s someone out there who is willing to help.” 

As she continues her business journey, Kimberly had some words of wisdom to share with others. “It is not easy to have your own business. There are times where you might feel like you want to throw in the towel because you feel like you are alone in this, but know that there’s always a next day, that things could change for the better. Keep pushing because that just might be the breakthrough  you have been waiting for.”
