Become a part time Business Programs Intern

WEV is actively looking for paid interns (10 to 20 hours per week, depending on availability) to support the business training programs. Internships can be 8 to 12 weeks in length and are available on a rolling basis throughout the year.

 

This list of duties and responsibilities is illustrative only of the tasks performed by this position and is not all-inclusive.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with program coordination & administration, including updating grant reporting documentation.
  • Updating business training curriculum and learning materials.
  • Assisting with social media marketing campaigns, gathering client stories and creating/reviewing content.
  • Communicating with team members consistently and effectively.
  • Attending team meetings as requested.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Interest and/or studies in microfinance, business, and/or economics
  • Excellent EQ, listening, communication and time management skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs and web-based databases; experience with Learning Management Systems preferred
  • Personal computer and telephone with reliable internet/cell service

Desired Skills:

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English), fluent in written and spoken Spanish, and experience working with LatinX bicultural communities

Education:

Minimum: High school diploma/GED
Preferred: Undergraduate degree in social sciences or another related field of study

 

Physical Demands:

  • Lift and carry up to 25 pounds without assistance
  • Sit at a computer, typing for 60-80% of the time

 

Additional:

On your first day of work, you will be asked to bring or present by Zoom the following:

(a) Evidence of your identity and US work authorization. We are required by federal law to examine documentation of your employment eligibility within three business days after you begin work. Such proof is required for the completion of Form I-9 (Employment Eligibility Verification).
(b) Copies of your Driver’s License status and proof of insurance, as this position may require you to drive on behalf of WEV and we need to comply with our insurance requirements.
