Before joining WEV in 2014, Nicole worked in the non-profit sector for 12 years with a focus on programs designed to break the cycle of generational poverty. While obtaining a master’s degree from Pepperdine University in Social Entrepreneurship and Change, Nicole interned in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia with a small organization providing training and employment for women. Through this experience, she saw firsthand the incredible impact of women’s economic empowerment: transforming not just individuals, but entire communities.
“The work that WEV does is not a band-aid for our community - economic empowerment is a long-term solution to the cycle of poverty. I am proud to work here.”
