Special Grant Opportunity for Small Businesses Impacted by the Thomas Fire and Debris Flows

Women’s Economic Ventures (WEV) is proud to announce a special opportunity for small businesses that were economically impacted by the Thomas Fire and Debris Flows. Thanks to the generous contribution from Wells Fargo, WEV is pleased to offer business recovery grants of up to $10,000 to eligible businesses.

Examples of impact include:

  • Lost revenue due to closures and/or changed and disrupted customer patterns
  • Suspension of operations
  • Plant, property, and equipment damages
  • Damaged inventory
  • Other direct/indirect costs relating to the disasters

Diverse small businesses (e.g. women, minority, veterans, LGBTQ,-owned) are particularly encouraged to apply. Further Information, including the online application, is available at www.wevonline.org. Applications will be accepted until 5pm on November 16th or until 150 applications are received, whichever occurs first.

About Women’s Economic Ventures (WEV)

Women’s Economic Ventures is dedicated to creating an equitable and just society through the economic empowerment of women. WEV provides training, consulting and loans to help entrepreneurs start, grow and thrive in business. WEV serves all of Santa Barbara and Ventura counties from offices in Santa Barbara, Ventura and Santa Maria. While WEV targets its services toward women, it helps men as well, and provides many services in English and Spanish.

Since 1991, WEV has provided business training and consulting to over 14,000 women and men throughout Santa Barbara and Ventura counties, and made more than $5 million in loans, assisting over 4,000 local businesses. WEV is a U.S. Small Business Administration’s Women’s Business Center, and a certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI).

A pioneer in the field, WEV was founded by Marsha Bailey, a nationally recognized advocate for women business owners. Marsha recently completed her tenures on the National Women’s Business Council and as board president of the national Association of Women’s Business Centers. Oportunidad Especial de Dinero Disponible para Pequeños Negocios Impactados por el Incendio Tomas y los Deslaves.

Condados de Santa Barbara y Ventura, CA— Women’s Economic Ventures (WEV), una agencia comunitaria, se siente orgullosa de anunciar una oportunidad especial para pequeños negocios que económicamente fueron impactados por el Incendio Tomas (conocido como el Thomas Fire en inglés) y por los Deslaves de Lodo. Gracias a una contribución generosa por medio de Wells Fargo, WEV puede ofrecer becas de recuperación de hasta $10,000 para negocios elegibles.

Ejemplos de impacto incluyen:
