‘Women, Work, Wages’ panel discussion will include Angel Cottrell of Women’s Economic Ventures

A panel discussion on “Women, Work and Wage$” will be presented at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 30, at the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors Hearing Room, 511 E. Lakeside Parkway, Santa Maria.

The presentation by the Santa Barbara County Commission for Women and the American Association of University Women will feature four speakers.

Speakers will include:

Angel Cottrell of Women’s Economic Ventures, who will speak about women empowering themselves to compete in the business world;

Maria Fabula of the Nonprofit Support Center, who will address the employment opportunities for women in the nonprofit field;

Kelly Jenkins-Pultz of the U.S. Department of Labor, who will review the current California employment status and how women can enhance their marketability; and

Eleanor Snowden of Hancock College, who will focus on using education to develop a living-wage career and other resources to change careers and increase compensation.

The discussion is free and open to everyone. Spanish translation will be provided.
