Congratulations SET Graduates
graduate_1432932231298_18983999_ver1.0_640_480 2With 250 in attendance, the WEV community celebrated 84 women and men graduating from this Spring’s Self-Employment Training (SET) courses. The ceremony honored graduates from Oxnard, Santa Barbara and Ventura (pictured above). The ceremony was followed by a client expo where graduates displayed their newly polished businesses for the first time. Congratulations, Spring SET 2015 graduates; we can’t wait to see your progress in the coming months!

Empowerment is Priceless Raises $270,000
EIPPhoto 7This year’s Empowerment is Priceless fundraiser was the most successful yet! The event outcome was made possible by our generous
sponsors, table captains, WEV client volunteers, the support of the WEV board and staff and the wonderful matching gift of $125,000 from Lynda Weinman, co-founder of Lynda.com. You can read more about the event, including the award winner, here.

WEV Needs Your Feedback
Beginning the first week in June, a group of dedicated WEV interns will begin making phone calls to our past clients. These friendly, cheerful, hard-working interns want to hear it all – the good, the bad and the ugly! Your feedback helps us quantify the impact we’re making in the community and learn how we can make our programs more effective. You don’t have to be in business to participate, and we’ll even give you a $5 gift card for your time!
