Plan for Success in SET Workshops
In October, WEV held the first of three ‘Plan for Success in SET’ workshops, designed to better prepare clients for their journey in the Self-Employment Training (SET) course and entrepreneurship!
The second Plan for Success in SET workshop for those that enroll by November 25th, will bridge the gap between personal and business finances, teach basic financial lingo, and provide a preliminary assessment to see if your business concept might be financially feasible.

WEV Job Opening: Development & Marketing Coordinator
WEV is seeking to hire a full-time Development & Marketing Coordinator in the Santa Barbara office, beginning January 2015.
This position needs an experienced, capable, detail-oriented individual who provides administrative support to the development team and creates and implements a cohesive, streamlined strategy of the organization’s marketing efforts.

Startup Weekend Returns to Santa Barbara! Startup Weekend is a global grassroots movement of active and empowered entrepreneurs who are learning the basics of founding startups and launching successful ventures.
The weekend (November 14th-16th) begins with open mic pitches where attendees bring their best ideas and inspire others to join their team. Saturday and Sunday focus on customer development, idea validation, practicing LEAN Startup Methodologies and building a minimal viable product. On Sunday evening teams demo their prototypes and receive valuable feedback from a panel of experts.
