Plan for Success in SET Workshops

SETIn October, WEV held the first of three ‘Plan for Success in SET’ workshops, designed to better prepare clients for their journey in the Self-Employment Training (SET) course and entrepreneurship! 

The second Plan for Success in SET workshop for those that enroll by November 25th, will bridge the gap between personal and business finances, teach basic financial lingo, and provide a preliminary assessment to see if your business concept might be financially feasible.

Saturday, November 29th is Small Business Saturday–the day to celebrate shopping small after Thanksgiving. In California, businesses and neighborhoods have joined together to make it a banner day for small businesses.

Startup Weekend Returns to Santa Barbara!
Startup Weekend is a global grassroots movement of active and empowered entrepreneurs who are learning the basics of founding startups and launching successful ventures. 

The weekend (November 14th-16th) begins with open mic pitches where attendees bring their best ideas and inspire others to join their team. Saturday and Sunday focus on customer development, idea validation, practicing LEAN Startup Methodologies and building a minimal viable product. On Sunday evening teams demo their prototypes and receive valuable feedback from a panel of experts.
