Dear Friend of WEV,

The WEV community is celebrating several milestones this month. Congratulations to our SET Spring 2013 Graduates, to our Client of the Month–Ninette Paloma, to our Business of the Year–Julia Crookston, and to the “Women of Achievement” recipient, WEV’s very own Marsha Bailey.

You can read about their journeys and awards in this issue of WEV Got News. Enjoy!

-The WEV Staff

Congratulations to SET Spring 2013 Graduates!

On May 21st, WEV celebrated the women and men who graduated from this Self-Employment Training (SET) course. Eighty-one graduates inspired friends and family as they delivered their elevator speeches to an audience of over 200. The ceremony was followed by a client expo, where graduates displayed their newly polished businesses for the first time. Congratulations, SET Spring 2013 Graduates!

Client of the Month: Ninette Paloma

NinetteP03
Ninette Paloma started aerial dancing for sheer pleasure, but she soon wanted nothing more than to make it a full-time endeavor. Now, she invites others to “honor the past and explore the uncharted” with her at her thriving studio, Santa Barbara Centre for Aerial Dance.

Get $5 at Starbucks or Amazon.com!

If you received services or had a loan from WEV in 2011, you may get a call from us in June to participate in our annual client outcomes research study.

We’ll ask you to complete a 15-20 minute telephone interview about your experiences since participating in our programs. The information we collect in these interviews is critical to helping us improve our programs and understanding our impact in the community. And to thank you for time, we’ll send you a $5 Starbucks or Amazon.com gift card!
