‘Fins, Kids’ Raises Over $1,800 for Surfrider
On April 6th the Fall 2009 WEV graduates behind ‘Fins, Kids, Bags and Bids’ presented the Ventura chapter of Surfrider with a check for over $1,800. The funds were raised in March at the CSUCI Art Gallery in downtown Ventura where a silent auction featured ocean-themed art created by local third graders. The art was transferred to canvas bags and, along with other specialty items, was bid on by the excited and generous members of the public who attended the well-trafficked event. “It was fantastic to see the community’s response. We’re planning to make the event an annual occurrence,” said Llewellyn Somers, a member of the ‘Fins, Kids’ team.

Co-organizer April Lemly poses with a proud student and her artwork at the ‘Fins, Kids, Bags and Bids’ event.

Calling WEV Client Photographers

WEV is in the process of selecting its 2010 Success Stories and would like to have two WEV client photographers take the photos to be seen on the website, ads, and other marketing materials!

The project may also entail taking headshots for two of WEV’s newest staff members!
