Simple Steps for Starting Your Business (in Spanish)
Our Spanish Program will soon be underway! WEV’s 6-week course in Spanish begins Wednesday, March 5th from 6-9pm in Oxnard. Along with expert guest speakers, WEV instructor Gonzalo Fernandez will teach the basics of starting a business utilizing SCORE’s ‘Simple Steps for Starting Your Business’ curriculum.
If you know someone who speaks Spanish that wants to explore a business idea or who is in business, but needs support with basics such as marketing and financing, please have them call our Spanish line at 805-456-2383. Think Big January session
WEV’s Thrive in Five program is designed for clients once their doors are open for business, and helps them grow and develop their companies in the ever-changing marketplace for the first five years. Our quarterly Think Big networking and mentoring sessions allow our clients, Business Development Specialists, and staff time to learn and grow as a business community. The January session of Think Big in Santa Barbara had record attendance and valuable opportunities to meet with a few of our Outside Consultants as well.

Make it YOUR Business Conference in Santa Maria
The Small Business Entrepreneurship Center (SBEC) at Allan Hancock College (AHC) and Bloggers for Health (BOH) are hosting the first “Make it YOUR Business Conference” on February 22nd. The conference is for women interested in business, and it will focus on the importance of personal health (financial and physical) as a precursor to business success. It will also focus on various aspects of business including the important steps for launching or expanding a business.
Sending a big thank you, high five and hug to Fresco Cafe in the Five Points Shopping Center for hosting a fundraiser where 10% of the proceeds were donated to WEV! We’re so grateful for their support and for everyone who came out to support us by having dinner at Fresco. This is a great example of a WEV client business giving back to WEV!
