Congratulations to WEV’s Fall 2009 Graduating Class

WEV is proud to announce that 78 clients graduated from our Fall 2009 Self-Employment Training and pilot Business Plan Intensive courses!

Of those 78 clients, 72 graduated with a complete business plan. We are thrilled to celebrate their accomplishments and wish them success as they begin (or continue) building their business dreams.

WEV’s Spring 2010 Self-Employment Training Course

WEV’s Self-Employment Training course is 14-week course providing week-by-week training in the most important aspects of organizing, financing, marketing and managing a small business.  Participants leave the course with a complete business plan including a marketing plan, a cash flow projection, an operations plan, and a core network to help sustain the business.

There are now more than 1,000 businesses throughout Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties owned and operated by graduates of WEV’s Self-Employment Training program or recipients of small business loans through WEV. The Self-Employment Training course is part of the continuum of programs WEV offers to help women start-up, launch, grow, and sustain their own business.

WEV’s Spring 2010 SET course begins the second week in February. Attendance of a free 1-hour orientation is required to enroll in the course. Please visit https://wevonline.org/be-an-entrepreneur/set/course-description to sign up for an orientation TODAY!

Memorial Service for WEV Instructor

On December 20, 2009, former WEV instructor Connie Bereny passed away due to a lengthy illness. She profoundly touched the lives of many WEV staff and clients. WEV extends its condolences to her family.

There will be a “Celebration of Life” service for Connie on Sunday, January 10, 2010, at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks Memorial Park at 2:30 p.m.  The address is 5600 Lindero Canyon Road in Westlake Village (next to Costco). Please join in honoring Connie and her many contributions to her community and WEV.
