Dear Friend of WEV,

The temperature isn’t the only thing heating up this summer. Watch your success rising like mercury as you take advantage of all that WEV has to offer!

-The WEV Staff

Registration for Roundtables Still Open!

Roundtables are now open to everyone. One participant emailed staff after the first session and said:

“I had an enormous epiphany after the WEV Roundtable tonight–Robin is a fabulous facilitator and coach!”

The deadline for the “In Business” roundtable in Santa Barbara has been extended to July 25th!  The cost is only $100 for the entire series – time and money well spent on your business.

Coaching: You Can Do It.

For several years, WEV has partnered with the Hudson Institute to provide entrepreneurial coaching to our clients. The Hudson Institute trains and certifies coaches across the nation.

By joining WEV Got Business, you can benefit from 10 free hours of coaching.  If you’re already a member, but haven’t yet taken advantage of your coaching hours – or if you’re ready to join – do it today! Here’s what a recent coachee said about her experience:

“I had an absolutely amazing business coach! My experience with him was 100% positive and I found him to be sharp, solutions oriented, an excellent listener, and highly skilled in helping me with professional development. WEV helped me tremendously during a time of business transition. I received business coaching services that helped me with skills as a leader, identifying my professional strengths, and supporting me in making tough business decisions. Thank you for everything you’ve done!”

A Sweet and Savory International Delight “WEV Connects” Event at La Arcada a Success

©2011 SBJPG

Over 100 WEV supporters and clients visited three WEV businesses in La Arcada Court during Santa Barbara’s First Thursday event on July 7th.

Many thanks to Café Shell owner Shelley Shoemaker, Hampstead Village owner Angela Torin, and Chocolats du Calibressan owners Jill-Marie & Jean-Michel Carré for hosting the event and donating a percentage of proceeds from the evening back to WEV. Thanks also to SET graduate and owner of Pacific Photo Images, Greg Marquez, for displaying his beautiful prints of the Santa Barbara landscape.

Congratulations to Rob Raffaeli for winning the gift basket valued at over $100! Stay tuned for information on the next “WEV Connects” event in Ventura County this Fall.

Free Orientations for Fall Programs

WEV’s 14-week flagship program, the Self-Employment Training (SET) course, begins the week of Labor Day (Sept. 5), and our 6-week Business Plan Intensive (BPI) course begins the following week. If you or someone you know would like more information about these programs, sign up for one of the free 1-hour orientations happening throughout the months of July and August.

Don’t Keep It to Yourself!

Please help us inform the community about our stellar lineup of programs by sharing your WEV experience with your friends, colleagues, your grocer, banker, on Facebook, etc. And please let us know if you’d like a handful of our new brochures, or if there’s an event you would recommend that we attend.

Client of the Month – July

Corey
Halfway through the SET course, Cory gave her two weeks’ notice and never looked back! She began Dandyline Designs and had soon designed WEV’s Thrive in Five logo, as well as logos for over ten of WEV’s clients! Read more.
