WEV (pronounced “weave”) is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating an equitable and just society through the economic empowerment of women. We are a purposeful, mission-driven organization with a passionate and engaged staff based in Santa Barbara and Ventura counties, whose primary focus is on supporting women-owned businesses and entrepreneurship.

WEV is seeking paid interns (10 to 20 hours per week, depending on student workload) to support the entrepreneurial training and advisory programs. Internships can be 8 to 12 weeks in length and are available on a rolling basis throughout the year. Local applicants are preferred as WEV offices are open with most staff maintaining a hybrid work schedule. WEV is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Illustrative Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with program coordination & administration, including updating grant reporting documentation.
  • Supporting WEV’s strong service culture through ongoing customer contact, quality customer care, and program knowledge.
  • Assisting with social media marketing campaigns, gathering client stories and creating/reviewing content.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Interest and/or studies in microfinance, business, women’s studies or social science
  • Fluent in English; Bilingual in Spanish preferred
  • Excellent EQ, listening, communication and time management skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs and web-based databases; experience with Learning Management Systems preferred
  • Personal computer and telephone with reliable internet/cell service


Minimum: High school diploma/GED

Preferred: Undergraduate degree in social sciences or another related field of study.

Physical Demands:

  • Lift and carry up to 25 pounds without assistance.
  • Sit at a computer, typing for 60-80% of the time.
