Women’s Economic Ventures (WEV) is the host organization for the Mountain Communities Small Business Development Center (SBDC). Located in Frazier Park, the Mountain Communities SBDC of WEV offers consultations and training to help local women and men start or grow a small business and provide them with the resources to support long-term success. In collaboration with the University of California Merced Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Regional Network, the Mountain Communities SBDC of WEV strives to promote the development and growth of small business in Kern County through quality advice and support. During a Mountain Communities SBDC of WEV consultation, entrepreneurs, start-up companies and seasoned existing business owners can confidentially discuss and review business strategies with a consultant. In addition to providing individual business consulting, the Mountain Communities SBDC of WEV will offer a number of resources, including workshops and WEV’s acclaimed 14-week Self-Employment Training program. WEV is designated as the host organization for this region as an established organization aligned with the SBDC’s mission to serve the Mountain Communities of Kern County. The SBDC is in the news! Turn left onto Mount Pinos Way. Office is located on the right hand side at 3717 Mount Pinos Way. We share an office with the Mountain Communities Chamber of Commerce, located in Unit A, closest to the street. About UC Merced Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Regional Network The UC Merced Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Regional Network has the primary mission of promoting the development and growth of small businesses by providing high quality business assistance throughout Central California, thereby enhancing regional prosperity. The organization assists Central California's entrepreneurs and small business owners through providing one-on-one consulting, small business training and research.
