Evelina Ochoa was born and raised in Ventura County. At a young age, her farm-working parents instilled the foundation of always helping her community. She is familiar with the local demographics and is an advocate for various populations. As a teenager, Evelina discovered a passion for assisting underserved women while volunteering for a women’s health center. She became a supporter of women’s health related issues and continues to create awareness. For over 8 years, Evelina has worked in Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties coordinating various programs. She has experience working in community health education, youth after-school education, and youth entrepreneurship programs. Evelina joined WEV in December 2013 as the Program Coordinator and is responsible for administrating the Ventura County Self-Employment Training (SET) and Business Plan Intensive (BPI) programs. Evelina resides in Oxnard, California and on her spare time enjoys cycling and fundraising for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Chapter of Los Angeles.
